PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT
Quant Firm Launches Centralized Investment Platform
A major investment firm based in Texas partnered up with Antematter to design and deliver an investment management platform that provided users a complete view of their portfolio and access to established strategies with reduced manual effort.
Our Client
Our client is a quantitative and fundamental investment firm that focuses on the next generation of internet technologies. They use data science, in-house technology, and investment experience to understand technology adoption and make informed decisions. Their work spans both public and private markets.
They work closely with founders and portfolio companies to help them grow and succeed. They also advise entrepreneurs, family offices, institutions, and wealth managers on how to build long-term technology investment strategies.
Core Challenges
The client wanted to address the following key concerns faced by their customers and staff:
Fragmented Investment Visibility
Most customers had accounts with several brokerages and no way to get a complete picture of their investments. This made it harder to make informed decisions.
Barriers to Professional Guidance
Retail investors often lacked access to structured investment strategies or professional managers without going through traditional firms.
Operational Burden on Advisors
Advisors and managers spent a lot of time preparing reports, tracking performance, and managing client communications. This slowed them down and limited how many clients they could support.
Solution Overview
Antematter delivered the platform in structured phases to build from a strong base and expand its features over time.
We started with the core backend, built for reliability, control and security. It supports user roles, encrypted transactions, and core financial operations such as deposits, withdrawals, internal transfers, all backed by a comprehensive transaction ledger. Administrative users gained specialized tools for managing KYC workflows and client verification.
Building upon this, we introduced brokerage aggregation. Users can now link their accounts from major brokers through secure APIs. Investors could view their entire portfolio from a single, unified dashboard, complete with time-weighted and money-weighted return tracking for deeper insights.
Access control was embedded into every level of the platform to maintain clarity and governance. Each user sees only what’s relevant to their role: investors monitor portfolios, managers oversee client accounts, advisors provide personalized guidance and administrators control access, configurations, and strategies.
Additionally, we developed a responsive frontend experience, tying these capabilities together. Each dashboard is tailored to the user’s function, with intuitive navigation and frictionless workflows from onboarding to performance tracking. The result is a seamless platform that delivers institutional-grade functionality in an accessible, investor-first design.
Solution Description
The platform is built on a multi-tier system. The backend handles data, business logic, and user sessions. The frontend, built with a modern JavaScript framework, talks to a central API layer. Role-based permissions are enforced at every level.
Brokerage integration uses secure protocols like OAuth 2.0. All sensitive actions are logged for auditing. The system meets standard compliance requirements for secure financial platforms.
The infrastructure supports thousands of users and high-volume transactions. It runs on containerized services with CI/CD pipelines for reliable testing and fast deployment.
Operational Impact
The delivered solution yielded the following immediate outcomes:
One View for Investment Tracking
Users can now view all brokerage accounts in a single dashboard. This has reduced time spent reviewing portfolios by around 50 percent.
